We are raising children in a world where the wrong seems to be the norm.
The wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. Both we and our children need to know that the standards set by the "world" should never be taken at face value.
We need to teach and model to our children that it is still fashionable to be different, doing the right things. For questions and contributions, please email: askauntyjoy@yahoo.com |

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord".
To give children opportunity to serve, in Children's Church, we have different groups that the children can join to offer their service to God and humanity (Heavenly voices, dance, technical, divine guards, welfare, prayer etc)
Pls discuss with your children, find out where they can serve and encourage them to embrace service. When they grow up, they will not depart from serving God.

Happy New Year! It is a joy to be part of the living on a day like this despite al happening I the country and around the world. In this year of Greater Glory, we will experience the glory of God in every area of our lives. However, we must not leave our children out of this glory. According to the mandate we have received for 2012
1) Teach your children that God is holy and wants them to be holy unto him. They must deal with sin in their lives because sin ridicules, humiliates and embarrasses.
2) They should not assume God is with them just because they come to church, they must know without any doubt that God is with them. Let them know that if Jesus is not with them, they can't make the journey of life.
3) Teach your children to seek God in the right place.

This time of the year is when many of us take stock of the ending year and also budget and plan for the following year. I find it a very rewarding exercise when it is done prayerful. Would you consider encouraging and helping your children reflect and make life changing decisions for the coming year. Take time to ask your children the lessons learned in 2009 and what they would like to do better next year. Prayerfully help them to set realistic and achievable goals for themselves. Involve them in the 31st night service. Let them also write their own prayer requests following the guidelines of the Bishop. I see a glorious 2012 ahead, may the grace of God usher us into the new year in Jesus name..
See you at the top, in 2012.

Have you thought of a project you can do with your children this Christmas? If not, would you consider visiting an orphanage with your children!
You do not have to have so much to be able to reach out to the less privileged; two or three cartons of noodles are good enough to take with you.
When you do, you will be bringing joy to those wonderful children and at the same time be teaching your children life lessons.
Have you ever heard children complain and say things like "it's not fair", perhaps because you served them a well garnished healthy meal instead of "indomie". Then you need to show them children who have not even had water to drink all day and let them judge who should be complaining.
